Holiday Question
"That’s the universal question as a 21st century male artist, right? How can I desire (women) without my desire being damaging?"

Matthew Guenette
So when I'm not reading Chaucer, Hopi Tales of Sexual Floundering, Psychobabbles on Stalin (with lots of juicy Hitler-Man-Crush details) and dancing around naked in the glittering charnel house of my poetry
----Danse Russe (WCWilliams)-----
If I when my wife is sleeping
Ballet russe (photo of Adolph Bolm and Flore Revalles, taken in 1910)
and the baby and Kathleen
are sleeping
and the sun is a flame-white disc
in silken mists
above shining trees,--
if I in my north room
dance naked, grotesquely
before my mirror
waving my shirt round my head
and singing softly to myself:
"I am lonely, lonely.
I was born to be lonely,
I am best so!"
If I admire my arms, my face,
my shoulders, flanks, buttocks
again the yellow drawn shades,--
Who shall say I am not
the happy genius of my household?
I've been reading Matthew Guenette's Marriage/wish poem on Anti--Even though I now kind of feel that i can see most of the author's fingerprints and scaffolding I don't care. I'm really delighted by this poem....
