Tony Hoagland at Petco (shopping for a kitten)

shopping for a kitten at Petco Tony Hoagland lapses into Professor Mode: "I'm sorry, miss," he says, sneering down, "But this so-called Kitten just won't work for me. It's just-uh-uh-too frivolous.. too shiny...uh-uh... too full-of-itself.... it's all over the place, really, now, isn't it ??...uh-uh-uh,........ &, did i mention its sneering??... that's its best quality, really... uh-uh,...i mean i kind of admire how it sneers at me... kind of admire how it doesn't even seem to acknowledge my existence.... but, really, ha ha, it's all surface,... all glitz and shimmer... and, uh-uh, it's sneering at me, again, Miss... uh, uh, Make it stop, plz, Miss,... make it stop!"
